Heredia, Costa Rica

Heredia, Costa Rica, has a long history, having its first church in 1736, and first school in 1751.  Today, Heredia is affectionately known as the “City of Flowers,” owing to its breathtaking landscapes and stunning gardens that adorn the foothills of Barva Volcano. Heredia is situated on the eastern side of the Central Valley, which is known for its cooler and wetter weather conditions compared to the western side of the valley. Though there is a dry season with minimal rainfall, clouds are present for most of the year, and the wet season lasts for just under seven months. The temperatures in the area are subject to fluctuations based on weather patterns and seasons, ranging from 17.2°C (63°F) to 27.8°C (82°F), with the extremes being around 29.5°C (85°F) and 15°C (59°F) for high and low temperatures, respectively.
