Jacó, Costa Rica is a top tourist destination with great surf, a 4 km (2.5 mi) long black sand beach, and proximity to San José. It offers an exciting combination of sun, sand, surf, shopping, and nightlife, with an impressive selection of restaurants, hotels, lounges, and nightclubs. As an expat hub, shopping is quite modern, however avoid late nights where petty crime can be an issue.  Nearby, you can also explore other popular Costa Rica beaches such as Playa Hermosa, Herradura and Playa Bejuco, as well as the popular marina of Los Sueños, and a broad array of outdoor adventure activities.

The relative humidity usually averages 80% +/-, but can increase during the rainy season to nearly 90%. In contrast, during the dry season, temperatures may rise above 35 °C (95 °F) in areas that are farther away from the water. Typically, the temperature ranges from 24–32 °C (75–90 °F) during the day and 24–26 °C (75–79 °F) at night.
